The School Name

The school was named after Cearbhall Ó Dálaigh, President of Ireland, Judge of the European Court, Chief Justice of Ireland, patron of the arts and a dedicated Irish speaker.

Cearbhall Ó Dálaigh provides an example for us in his achievement in his profession, in his wide European culture and in his loyalty to the Irish language. The name reminds us also of one of the great medieval Bardic families who preserved and transmitted the native learning.
